The Stellantis OBD Homologation engineer is responsible for managing the certification documentation process, program timing, and investigations related to non-compliance issues. This role involves working closely with engineering teams and suppliers to ensure that OBD systems meet regulatory requirements and are certified on time. Key responsibilities include coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, creating OBD certification documentation, leading non-compliance investigations, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting to regulatory agencies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive engineering, experience with OBD systems, and excellent project management skills.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Interface with product development teams and suppliers to plan and track assigned OBD programs, as well as define deliverables and timing
- Compile and review OBD documentation applications for certification
- Complete compliance reviews with product development leads to verify diagnostic strategies, standardized data, and OBD system management functions align with regulation requirements
- Provide feedback/guidance on how to approach regulation and technical challenges
- Lead assigned OBD strategy review workgroups
- Coordinate with product development teams to triage and track potential OBD regulatory issues and define action plans
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or an equivalent Engineering degree from an accredited university
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in propulsion system development
- Experience with OBD diagnostics and OBD regulations
- Working knowledge of conventional and electrified propulsion system functionality, embedded controls software and calibration tools
- Ability to balance work on many projects simultaneously
- Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Business Management from an accredited university
- Experience managing projects from concept to launch on defined timelines
- 3 years diagnostic controls, software, or calibration experience
- Experience with engine/e-motor/inverter/battery/transmission design and development
